Information Design - Exercise 01: Quantifiable Information

INSTRUCTION

Exercise 1 - Quantify & Visualize Data

For this exercise we supposed to quantify our chosen items and arrange the objects into a presentable layout or chart. I decided to go with fluffy color deco balls. I started by sorting them based on their colors and then arranged them in order of their quantity and condition on the A3 paper.

Fig1.1 Sorted out according to colours

Feedback: The number of buttons is a little small, you can get more

I started by arranging them in order of their quantity on an A4 sheet of paper.

Then I start to finish and finalize my ideas

Exercise 02 - L.A.T.C.H.

In exercise 2, we have to organize a group of information into a visual poster that combines and utilizes the LATCH principles (Minimum 4). We are required to use the digital photo editing/illustration software available to assemble the information into a LATCH infographic poster. We are allowed to reuse back the images, but we do have to create the rest of your visuals to complete the poster.
Requirements: Size resolution: A4

L (Location)
Use a map to show the main living areas in China, such as Sichuan, Shaanxi, etc.

T (Time)
Show the trend of the number of giant pandas

C (Category)
The information is divided into multiple categories, including:
Diet (bamboo, fruit, other plants, etc.)
Physical characteristics (ears, eyes, claws, teeth, etc.)
Behavioral habits (sleep, activity, eating, etc.)
Ecological environment (habitat, distribution range, etc.)
Population changes (data on the change of the number of giant pandas over time)

H (Hierarchy)
Core: giant panda image (as the visual center)
Surrounding small icons and text (subdivided information on different aspects)
Statistical data or maps at the bottom (provide time changes and geographical distribution information)

Visual Reference
After listing the information, I headed to Pinterest to find some infographics to use as visual reference.

This version of the text is quite dense, which may affect the reading experience. I have decided to streamline it to make it more concise and easier to read.

I modified the whole thing because I found that my size was wrong
