Production Team

Production personnel are hired for the purpose of producing a film or motion picture.

The personnel in a production team:

Producer: involved throughout all phases of a film project to initiate, coordinate, supervise, and control matters such as raising funding, hiring key personnel, contracting and arranging for distributors.

Screenwriter: shapes the sequence of events in a film so that the story will unfold logically and in an interesting way.

Director: is responsible for overseeing the creative aspects of a film, including controlling the content and flow of the film's plot and managing the technical aspects of visuals with the camera department and sound with the audio department.

Assistant Director (A.D): assists the production manager and director and oversees day-to-day management of the cast and crew scheduling, equipment, script, and set.

Director of Photography/Cinematographer (DoP): makes decisions on framing and lighting of scenes in conjunction with the film's director.

Gaffer: responsible for the design and execution of the lighting plan for a production.

Sound Recordist: records all sound during filming.

Production Designer: creates physical and visual appearance of the film – settings, costumes, props and character makeup.

Film Editor: Assembles the various shots into a coherent film, working closely with the director.

Visual Effect Artist: responsible for compositing images from different sources such as video, film, computer-generated 3-D imagery,2-D animations, matte paintings and text.

Sound Designer: In charge of the post-production sound of a movie.

Project 2 Shooting and Editing

I was assigned to Group 2 and we created a WhatsApp group to facilitate communication. We have assigned tasks in the group.

Production Shoot Editing

Before editing the production shoot video, I reviewed and listened to the recorded video and audio clips. I selected the clips that I wanted to include in the final video. Following that, I organised and placed these chosen clips into two separate files for easier access during the editing process.

Project 2: TikTok/Insta video

For this task we are required to create a unique TikTok video.

REFLECTIONS

It is even more difficult to personally capture these transformations. Although it was my friend who helped me with the shoot, it was a fairly detailed task because usually the transition is not as I imagined. We had to do multiple retakes

Color correction is also very interesting because I didn't realize that after making small adjustments to the settings and adjustments, the final product would give a completely different feeling.
