Topic selection and research questions

At the beginning of this research project, I spent a considerable amount of time striving to choose a suitable topic and research question. In the end, I chose to study the impact of interface aesthetics and design on users. Due to my strong interest in games, this topic about game interface design has made me more engaged and passionate.

Critical Review and Data Collection

In the task of critical review, I need to read a large amount of literature. This step is a challenge for me, but at the same time, it is also very rewarding. Collecting data is another challenge, I need to collect 80 questionnaires. During this process, I learned how to design effective questionnaires and ensure the accuracy and validity of the data.

When I receive feedback every week, my learning outcomes are better. By making every effort to maintain progress on a weekly basis, I am able to receive comprehensive guidance and necessary feedback to improve my work. Watching lecture videos helped me gain a deeper understanding of the theoretical aspects of research. By repeatedly watching lecture videos, I am able to retain information more effectively when writing research questions, research objectives, and problem statements.

The reading materials have improved my understanding of the structure and requirements of each component. These knowledge have helped me expand my ability to write research proposals, which is crucial as it provides a solid structure for subsequent tasks.

This research task taught me a lot, and I found that certain research methods are beneficial for certain topics and what each topic aims to discover. As far as I am concerned, I have found that the survey method is the most suitable approach for conducting this research.

In my investigation, I found some errors, such as deficiencies in the questionnaire design. These mistakes taught me the importance of developing a detailed plan before collecting responses, as it is impossible to change questionnaire questions during the data collection process. If there is an opportunity to conduct similar research again in the future, I will ensure that my survey or any major data collection methods are more carefully planned and designed.

During this process, I realized that there is still room for improvement in my primary data collection skills. Through this study, I have learned how to better plan and execute data collection tasks, thereby improving the overall quality of research.
